Welcome to Department of Radiography
It’s with a great sense of gratitude to God that I, welcome you all to the department of radiography of the college of medicine, university of Lagos.
The department prides itself as the eye of modern medicine as we train students on becoming competent, efficient and very diligent radiographers. Considering the pivotal role of radiography in modern medicine, we do not compromise in our training, so our students can compete favourable locally and internationally seeing we don’t only produce graduates for the Nigeria market but also for other countries. with our dedicated members of staff both teaching and non-teaching
we are able to meet up with training needs of medical imaging with state of the earth equipment.

About the Department of Radiography
The establishment of a department of radiography in university of Lagos stemmed from the understanding that professional objectives will be better realized through academic excellence propelled by research. The former federal school of radiography Yabba was therefore permitted by the federal ministry of health to seek assimilation by the university of Lagos for the award of B.Sc. Honors in radiography. A tripartite curriculum development committee was set-up between university of Lagos, federal school of radiography and radiographer’s registration board of Nigeria.
Following approval by the presidency and the national universities commission, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the stakeholders namely: federal ministry of health, the university of Lagos and the federal school of radiography on May 27,2004. The following personalities signed for their respective institutions: Professor Eyitayo Lambo-the honourable minister for health, Professor Ibidapo obe-Vice chancellor, University of Lagos and Mrs. O.A Olukoya-Principal Federal School of Radiography. The school was handed over to the university in November 2006. This paved the way for admission of the first set of radiography students into the university of Lagos for bachelor of science honours in radiography in the 2005/2006 academic session.
